The White House has joined the social networking site

Pintrest.

"The White House will share pins and plates range from inspiring images and quotes infographics that help explain key points to get the details about life in the White House," Kori Schulman, director of online engagement of the Office of digital strategy, wrote in a Saturday blog.

According to Politico, the site provides users the ability to "pin" images and text on a web page for all to see.

It is part of the quoted White House strategy for engagement on a wide range of digital platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Flickr, the report said.

The White House said the holiday was a "very exciting" time for them to social networking site where many users share recipes, photos and travel tips. Close

The White House will also be a live, in-person social event for a number of their followers on the network.

"Pinners will be invited to check dcor, with the people who helped to transform the White House for the holidays, join us for a craft project requirements," explained Schulman.
