                                                                Oregon mall gunman identified

Police have identified the gunman who killed two people and wounded in a shooting in a shopping center near Portland, Oregon.

Jacob Tyler Roberts, 22, armed with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, which is fixed during recording.

Roberts, who used a stolen gun and wearing a mask, committed suicide after firing randomly at the mall.

Clackamas police said they had no motive, and described the death as Steve Forsyth, 44, and Cindy Ann Yuille, 54th

Mission of murder
The third victim, Kristina Shevchenko, remains a serious disease with a Portland hospital.

"It was really a murder total strangers, so far as I know at this point and time., He was really trying to get as many people to kill," said Clackamas County Sheriff Craig Roberts ABC Good Morning America.

The gunman apparently targeted "someone in his line of sight," Sheriff Roberts told NBC's Today show.

Roberts parked his green 1996 Volkswagen Jetta in front of the second floor entrance to Macy's department store and walked quickly through the store in the mall and started shooting randomly, police said.

Witnesses said he was shot several times while on the second floor of the mall, near the food court and Macy's.

Some of those present said that he cried. "I am the shooter"

Roberts used a stolen gun from someone he knew, officials said Wednesday. The jammed during the attack, but he managed to get it working again.

Mall Santa, Branched Wilson, told the Associated Press news agency how he popped the cover as shots sounded.

"I heard two shots and got out of the chair," said Mr. Wilson, 68 "I thought a red suit was a pretty good goal."

In a statement, said Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber: "My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families ... I have instructed state police to any and all necessary resources available to local law enforcement to do."
