Militants kill seven person in Nigeria
Suspected Islamist militants have at least seven people were killed in attacks on two northern Nigerian cities, military spokesmen said.
Five people were killed in an attack on a village outside of Maiduguri, a stronghold of Islamic militants Boko Haram.
In another attack killed armed men two people, including a policeman and burned government buildings in Maiha, on the border with Cameroon.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
The Nigerian army said that the three persons and seized weapons arrested after the attack outside Maiduguri.
A teacher in the village told The Associated Press that armed men had people gathered in a group to kill them. The teacher said that 15 people had died in the attack, many had their throats cut.
Violence linked to Boko Haram uprising - a group that Islamic law be imposed on the country - has cost hundreds of lives in 2012.
Six people were killed in an attack on a church on Christmas Day, while seven people were killed Wednesday in Maiduguri, the city where Boko Haram launched its campaign in 2009.
Nigeria is divided between a mainly Muslim north and the Christian south.
