US airline passengers will be use soon electronics gadgets for takeoff

US airline passengers will be use soon electronics gadgets for takeoff

Good news for passengers angry when the pilot asked to turn off their electronics to start: The U.S. Federal Communications Commission agrees with them.

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski sent a letter to the Federal Aviation Administration Administrator Michael Huerta, calls on the Agency to "enable greater use of tablets, e-readers and other portable devices" during the flight, reported The Hill.

According to the New York Daily News, went Genachowski to defend how these devices have become indispensable in everyday life.

"They allow people to stay informed and connected with friends and family, and they allow both large and small companies to be more productive and efficient, and thereby economic growth and the U.S. to increase competitiveness," he wrote.

FAA initially demanded that the gadgets are turned off during takeoff and landing of fear that they would interfere with aircraft avionics, the report said.

But a 2006 FAA study found that "there was no evidence to say that these devices may interfere with a plane, and there was no evidence that they can," the report added.

According to the report, after being under public pressure to change their rules FAA promised in August to their policies, but the process is still not produce much change.

The FAA has decided in December last year that pilots can use iPads their flight manuals access during takeoff and landing, The New York Times reported that although the Agency rules still passengers prohibit the use of e-readers and tablets at that time, to report.
