Mali's PM arrested by junta
Bamako, Mali (AP) - Mali Prime Minister resigned on state television in a broadcast at 4 am local time, hours after soldiers led the recent coup in Mali arrested him at his home in Bamako.
Cheikh Modibo Diarra Prime Minister said in his speech: "Men and women who are concerned about the future of our nation, you hope for peace is for this reason that I, Cheikh Modibo Diarra, pulls me back with my entire government." .
A policeman and an intelligence official who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the press confirmed that soldiers loyal to Capt. Amadou Haya Sanogo, the leader 21st March coup, was Diarra arrested at his home around 10 pm Monday. He was taken to their military base.
